What You Call it Love.
Faaris was a good-looking and tall guy who could easily flatter any girl. He had beautiful Hazel color eyes which could put anxiety in any girl’s heart..but he was a decent guy. At least in the eyes of people around him. After coming back home that day faaris couldn’t eat or sleep properly. He was embarrassed and worried that the only chance which he had, he lost it already. ( He was in love and wanted to tell everyone that he calls it Iove) he had that feeling of love.
Aikaan woke up at 5 pm in the evening and she was still shocked like she has seen some bad dream. She went downstairs to make some tea for her mother and herself and to her surprise, her most favorite aunt (her mother’s sister) was sitting on the couch in the lounge. They were already having tea and Aikaan joined them. What Aikaan always loved about her aunt was her originality as a person and her honest opinion about everything. She always used to tell Aikaan stories about life, about all the matters important to her and Aikaan used to feel light after talking to her aunt always.
“Hello, aunty” I’m so glad you are here this afternoon.
So am I aikaan (her aunt replied holding her hand).
Aikaan sat on the couch near her aunt and her mother made some tea for her. Sipping her favorite cardamom tea she got a flashback of what happened in the morning today. Her aunt intervened and brought her back,
“What are you thinking about.”
Something weird happened in the morning aunty, and I’m really worried that I won’t be able to go to my favorite park anymore.. (she looked really sad)
What do you mean? What happened (aunty asked looking really surprised)
Can I talk in private aunty. I don’t want to bother mother.
Sure, yes. Let’s go upstairs in your room.
Aikaan told the whole story of how a boy chased her and what he said today.
Aunty looked confused and surprised but like always she made her feel relaxed.
“Look aikaan I know you. I know that you are not into boys or anything that’s why you easily got so scared. If some other girl would have been there at your place, I think she would have bluntly answered him or even would have felt happy but look, You call it love as many boys chase girls.
Many boys, probably most of the boys, have a first love before they fall in love with another woman. It begins the moment two people realize they’d die for each other, that they care more for one another than they do for themselves, and it lasts usually until a second love comes on the scene because most hearts are so small that they can keep the love of one person till their last breath in their hearts. They need to change and move to another love so that they could erase the previous love from their hearts and add the space for brand new love. If the same love keeps their hearts occupied it will be a huge roam and many boys don’t have such big hearts.”
So my little girl, just enjoy your life and ignore him. Don’t fall in this mud where you can’t get out from.
Aikaan nodded her head but somewhere in her head faaris was wired.. She couldn’t forget his eyes looking right through her. She couldn’t forget him.
Leila and faaris were watching a love story on Netflix named ” Call it Love “. Faaris never liked watching love story movies with Leila. He was bored so he went outside for a walk. He lit up his cigarette as usual and kept thinking about the girl he saw whose name is even not known by him. Faaris went to a near coffee shop and talked to his friend there who runs that shop.
Hey Adam! Look man, This is going to sound really crazy, but… from the moment I first set eyes on this girl I saw in the park, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about her. Help me! Am I in love??
“Hold your horses man!” Adam replied mocking him. Haha what has got into you?? What happened!
I think I’m in love with a girl who i can never ever get.
And why is that so? Let’s sit and I’ll make you some coffee and then tell me everything.
It was mid-November and Oakville was as cold as ice.
It was minus 4 degrees and nobody wanted to go out of the house until it’s really necessary but faaris was sitting in this coffee shop, out of his house, his cozy bed, and was telling Adam how it has become really hard for him to even sleep.
Seriously man the moment I saw her, a part of me walked out of my body and wrapped itself around that girl. And it still remains there.
Adam conveniently said, “talk to her in the morning if you got a chance, maybe you call it love but it’s just admiration “. It’s necessary that you talk to her if you want to understand that if it’s love or just some crush you have on her.
Faaris nodded.
“This life is what you make it. No matter what, you’re going to mess up sometimes, it’s a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you’re going to mess it up. Girls will be your friends – they’ll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go.
The ones that stay with you through everything – they’re your true best friends. Don’t let go of them. Also remember, sisters, make the best friends in the world. As for lovers, well, they’ll come and go too. And baby, I hate to say it, most of them – actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can’t give up because if you give up, you’ll never find your soulmate.

Aikaan was reading Marilyn Monore’s book and this was her favorite part which she had highlighted earlier. This time her understanding of this quote was different from when she last read it.
Since it was the weekend and aikaan still had a break going on after college. She still had to take admission to the university so she was doing one of her favorite things “reading a book”. She used to read Marilyn Monroe along as she was one of her favorites. Aikaan hated love stories and never wanted to create a love story movie out of her life. Her love life was the least important thing in her life.
She often tells her friends, ” You call it love, but I hate it “
